Luis H. Cabello

August 25, 1922 — April 27, 2011

Luis H. Cabello, 88, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2011.

Prayer services will be at 6 p.m. Friday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road with Jose Delosantos officiating.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christian Life Center Church, 2929 SW 5th Ave. with the Rev. Orlando Lopez officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery.

Luis was born on Aug. 25, 1922 in Coahu, Mexico, to Guillermo and Rosa Cabello. He worked in the factories there most of his life. He married Josefa De Los Santos on Jan. 10, 1950. Together they had six children.  Luis was a wonderful father. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, and especially his great-grandchildren. He was a happy fellow, visiting with everyone he came in contact with. He loved the outdoors and going on walks in the neighborhood.
Luis was especially proud of obtaining United States citizenship on Dec. 7, 1998.

Survivors include his wife, Josefa Cabello; three sons, Esequiel Cabello and wife Maria De Jesus, Guillermo Cabello and wife Simona, and Luis Cabello Jr. and wife Agustina, all of Amarillo; three daughters, Rosa Cabello of Monterey, Mexico, Esther Munoz and husband Mike, and Juana Ramirez and husband Carlos, both of Amarillo; a sister, Ramona Limon and husband Guillermo of San Antonio; 25 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road Amarillo, TX.
