Lucille ValVerde, age 65, of Amarillo passed away May 9, 2014. A time for the family to receive friends will be Wednesday May 14, 2014 from 10:00 am to 5:30 pm with Rosary recited at 6:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 15, 2015 at 4:00 pm at St. Laurence Catholic Church with interment to follow at Llano Cemetery East.
Lucille was born June 11, 1948 in Bracketville, TX to Maximo and Juanita (Fuentez) Gomez. She and her husband Eloy ValVerde Sr. have lived in Amarillo since 1969. Her life was centered around taking care of her husband, children & great grandchildren.
Lucille was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers Patricio and Mario Gomez.
Survivors include her husband Eloy ValVerde Sr. of Amarillo, a son Eloy ValVerde Jr. of Amarillo and a daughter Laurie and husband Jesus Castellanos of Amarillo. She is also survived by six sisters; Alice Castro of San Antonio, Nancy Mediana, Laura & Louis Waddell, Josie & Bobbie Cortez, Paulita & Jesus Garza all of Bracketville, six brothers; Francisco Gomez, Raymond Gomez, George Gomez, all of Bracketville, Maxamino Jr. & Julia Gomez of Wyoming, Inocencio Gomez & Joe Gomez, both of Austin and Grandchildren; Ceceila, Amanda, Rebecca, Desire, Eloy III, Jesus III, Delilah & Lorenzo. Great Grandchildren; Emiliano, Marcello, Angelina, Alyvia, Delilah, Cyrene & Xarissa.
