Lucia Davalos Murguia, 84, of Amarillo died on Thursday, August 25, 2016. Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Sunday, August 28, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Gerardo Uribe as Celebrant. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.
Lucia was born on July 17, 1932 in Guadalajara, Mexico to Lorenzo and Cecilia Hernandez. Lucia married Nestor Murguia in May 1954 in Mexico and was a housewife who loved taking care of her family. Lucia was very friendly and everybody loved her. She was a great cook and always had food ready for anyone that came to see her. She would feed everyone else before she would sit down to eat. Lucia and her children loved to make homemade tortillas. She was a very funny lady who loved to go dancing and shopping and she will be greatly missed by everyone who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nestor and a son, Eulogio Murguia.
She is survived by four daughters, Felipa Silva and husband Guerrero, Anita Nunez and husband Ismael, Maria Castanon and husband Lucio and Aurora Hernandez and husband Gilberto, all of Amarillo; four sons, Antonio Murguia and wife Raquel, Leopoldo Murguia and wife Refugio, Jesus Murguia and wife Celia and Reynaldo Murguia, all of Amarillo; nineteen grandchildren; five great grandchildren and numerous other family members and friends.
