Lois Virginia (Bell) Taylor

Lois Virginia Taylor, 92, of Amarillo, passed away on October 10, 2021 in Amarillo.  She was born on July 18, 1929 in Hedley, Texas to the late William Bell and Gwyneth Everett Bell.  On July 12, 1957 she married Donald C. Taylor in Amarillo.  He preceded her in death on January 6, 1994.

Lois attended Amarillo College from 1946-1948 and then earned her bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Education from the University of Texas in 1951.  She taught in Odessa, Texas from 1951-1953, Stephen F. Austin Junior High from 1953-1960 and Tascosa High School from 1960-1974, where she was head of the Math Department for six years.  She retired in 1974 to enjoy traveling with her husband.

She was friendly and kind to all she met,  and a true friend to those that was privileged to be her friend.

Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, October 30, 2021 at the LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Jon Watson officiating.
