Lois Elizabeth McCloskey, 88, of Amarillo, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015. Funeral service will be at 10:00 am, Monday, October 19, 2015 at Comanche Trails Church of Christ with Loran Harper, officiating. Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter Road.
Lois was born on November 28, 1926 in Ackerly, Texas to Benjamin F. and Annie M. Roberts. Lois was the youngest of twelve brothers and sisters. She attended Amarillo College where she received an Associates in Secretarial Business. Lois worked as a secretary for the electric company. She married Edgar Lee McCloskey on June 16, 1951 in Amarillo. She was an active member of Comanche Trails Church of Christ. Lois was a homemaker and loved all that included. She loved quilting, sewing, canning and cooking for others. Lois was a servant, she loved helping with anything that was needed. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,Ed, three sisters, and eight brothers.
Survivors include: her daughters; Deborah McBride and husband Donald of Amarillo, L. Elaine Albers and husband Max of Amarillo and Martha A. Cooper and husband Derek of Canadian; a son, Michael D. McCloskey and wife Connie of Canyon; 9 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 2:00pm - 4:00 pm, Sunday, October 18, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.
The family suggests memorials to Comanche Trails Church of Christ or High Plains Children’s Home of Amarillo.
