Lillian "Lil” Edna Mathson, 90, of Amarillo died on Friday, March 25, 2016. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, March 28, 2016 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.  Burial will follow at Llano Cemetery. Viewing will be held on Sunday, March 27, 2016 from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm at the funeral home. LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S Coulter.

Lil was born April 8, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama to Charles Edward and Kathleen Crow Eubank. She grew up and graduated high school in Birmingham. Lil was the middle child in her family; she had a sister, Jewel and a brother, Earl. She married Roy Sutton in Birmingham; they had two sons, Tommy and Charles. Lil has lived in Birmingham, Alabama, Topeka, Kansas, Puerto Rico and Amarillo. She raised two small boys by herself. Somehow she always provided for them. She worked for Kerr Paper Company and later worked for Amarillo Hardware where she retired after 25 years. While working there she met and fell in love with her prince charming, Andrew "Andy" Mathson. They married in 1976 in Fritch, Texas. She helped raise Andy's son, Scott. After their retirement, they loved to travel and go down south during the winters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother and her sister.

She is survived by her sons and daughters in law, Tommy and Linda Sutton, of Fritch, Charles and Oleta Sutton, of Amarillo; step children, Scott Mathson and wife Kristin, of Georgetown, Patty Stahl and Jerry Green, of Dumas, and Doug Mathson, of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Bryan Sutton and wife April, of Frisco, Heather Fink and husband David, of Shallowater, Braxton Mathson, Zack and Emily Daniel, of Georgetown,  Jennifer Tucker and husband Scott, of Portland, Oregon, Elisha Hernandez and husband Paul, of Amarillo; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Logan Fink, Alvin-Michael Owens and Travis Sutton,  Aubree Hernandez, and Evan Tucker.
