Lee Bell Gamblin

January 1, 1917 — September 21, 2012

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in South Georgia Baptist Church in Amarillo with the Rev. Bob Miller, the Rev. Robert Field and the Rev. Tracy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St.

Lee was born Jan. 1, 1917, in Sulpher Bluff to Joe Luther and Lela Bell Martin. She grew up and attended school in Electric City. Lee married L.D. Gamblin on Aug. 2, 1975. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, camping, flowers and spending time with her family. Mrs. Gamblin enjoyed serving the Lord and working in her church. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother with 29 grandchildren, great-grandmother with 68 great-grandchildren, great-great-grandmother with 40 great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-
grandmother with one great-great-great-grandchild. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a sister and six brothers.

Survivors include a sister, Lorene Madding of Rola, Mo.; three sons, Paul Platt and wife Carol of Amarillo, Joe Platt and wife Freda of Tyler and Thomas Platt of Dale; three daughters, Geri Platt of Amarillo, Earline Broaddus and husband Bill of Vega and Dee Reed and husband Jerald of Logan, N.M.
