Laveta Nell Maxey, age 55, passed away Monday September 2, 2013. A time for the family to receive friends will be Wednesday, September 4, 2013 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel. Funeral services will be Thursday, September 5, 2013 at 10:00 am at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with interment to follow at Llano Cemetery.
Laveta was born February 18, 1958 in Earth, Texas to Earl and Opal Glossup. She married the love of her life Doug Maxey November 1, 1991. She enjoyed out of town trips with her husband and grandchildren and spent many hours in her yard caring for her flowers. She also enjoyed doing crafts including hand making cards.
Laveta was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Jimmy Harter.
Survivors include her husband Doug of Amarillo, two daughters Lilly and husband Buckie Eager and Laura Lovato of Amarillo. She also leaves behind a sister Elaine Ostrander of Lubbock and her seven grandchildren Kiara Blackburn, Leah Lovato, Aspen Blackburn, Tanner Lovato, Kodie Eager, Brooklyn Eager and Vance Eager.
