Kinsley Rebecca Smith, 24, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, June 9, 2019. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, June 14, 2019 at Redeemer Christian Church, 3701 Soncy Road with Pastor Jacob Cates officiating. Burial will follow in Llano East Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:30 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
Kinsley was born on December 21, 1994 in Amarillo to Les and Kim Smith. She graduated from Arbor Christian Academy in 2013. Kinsley was a cheerleader, played volleyball and she was the 2012 State Champion in the Triple Jump. After graduating, she attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree. She then attended West Texas A&M University where she received her Master's Degree in Mental Health Counseling in August 2018.
Kinsley was a counselor at Healing Hearts Counseling Center where her passion was counseling children that were thirteen years old and younger. In addition to being a counselor, Kinsley was also very involved in dog rescue. She would transport rescue dogs to Colorado to the no kill rescue shelters. She had two dogs, Lily and Jasper and two horses, Ranger and Forrest. Kinsley also managed to work twenty hours a week taking care of the office at Barker Machine and was also the jump coach at Ascension Academy. She loved all things Disney and spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Leslie Shaie Smith and Colton Bryce Smith.
She is survived by her parents Les and Kim Smith; her brother, Kyler Ethan Smith; Grandparents, Charlie and Nelda Smith and Manuel and Rebecca Perez; her Grandmother, Revice Ruppanner; her Grandfathers, Darrell Briles and Jimmy Ingersoll and numerous other family members.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to one of Kinsley's favorite organizations: Opportunity School, 1103 S. Van Buren, Amarillo, Texas 79101; Christian Relief Fund, 1501 SW 58th Ave, Amarillo, TX 79110 or Gracie's Project Dog Rescue,10850 I-40 Frontage Rd, Amarillo, TX 79124.
