Kimberley Kaye “Kim” Young, 50, of Amarillo died Thursday, May 31, 2012.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St.
Mrs. Young was born April 21, 1962, in Amarillo to
Darrell and Judy Oakley. She grew up in Amarillo and was a 1980 graduate of Caprock High School. She married Joel Young Jr. on Oct. 24, 1980, in Amarillo. Mrs. Young was a loving and devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister and aunt. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Judy Oakley, and her grandmother, Leta Phillips.
Survivors include her husband, Joel Young Jr.; a daughter, Amanda Akins and husband Kyle of Amarillo; a son, Joseph Young of Amarillo; her father, Darrell Oakley of Amarillo; a sister, Janna Avidas and husband Ben of Oklahoma City; a brother, Dusty Oakley and wife Linda of Amarillo; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Iwana and Joel Young Sr.; a sister-in-law, Ideana Young; her nieces and nephews, Kristen Oakley, Genna Odell, Ileana Bonner, Dustin Smith, Savannah Oakley and Maci Avidas; and two great-nephews, Jordan Gable and Durham Bonner.
