Khamphong Phimmasone, 84, passed away peacefully on January 27, 2023. She was born May 2nd, 1938 in Thakhek Khammouane Laos to Ngo Thounesavath and Pum Loungphibuon. She married the love of her Bounten Phimmasone and they had 9 children together. They fled to America in 1979 after being refugees from the war. They build a life together here in Amarillo Texas. She was a devoted mother to her three sons Phetsamone Phimmasone of Fresno, CA, Phetsomphone, and wife Sythai Phimmasone and Nathane Phimmasone. She has four daughters Phetvilayphone and husband Thong Inh Thammavongsa, Jane Phimmasone, Phetphaysone, and husband Stoney Hager, and Pepe and husband Mark Johnson of Amarillo. Khamphong was known for her unwavering love for her family and was especially close to her 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Khamphong was born in a Buddhist family, but she later converted to Christianity, finding great comfort and solace in her faith. She lived a life filled with kindness and generosity, always putting others before herself. Her gentle spirit and warm smile will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents Ngo and Pum Thounesavath and her husband Bounteun Phimmasone, daughter Phetphaythone Montgomery, son Phetphayvanh Phimmasone, sister Ly Thounesavath, brother Khampouth Thounesavath and leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends. The family will receive friends and loved ones at a memorial service to celebrate her life, where she will be remembered for her strength, courage, and unwavering devotion to those she loved. Khamphong Phimmasone will be forever loved and remembered by those who knew her. May she rest in peace.
