Kerin Dale Duncan, 74 of Amarilo, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Funeral Services will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 7, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Corky Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Born Kerin Dale Boston, January 24, 1941 in Pryor Oklahoma. Died May 6, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas after a long battle with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. She married Johnny L. Duncan on June 17, 1961 in Adair, Oklahoma. She was a lifelong Christian and an amazing wife and mother. She was active in the First Baptist Church of Adair as the church pianist and a vocalist in her early years, and was a member of the Amarillo First Baptist Church since 1999. Over her lifetime; Kerin sang in a trio for the music department at N.E. Oklahoma A&M in Miami, Oklahoma; she was a secretary to the administrator of the Stillwater Oklahoma Baptist Hospital; and was a music teacher at two church schools and a private piano teacher in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She lived in Albuquerque from 1961-1999 until she relocated to Amarillo when her husband transferred to a local Sandia Labs Office at the Pantex Plant. She retired in 2003 and enjoyed twelve great years spoiling her grandsons, son and husband.

She was preceded in death by her son, David at age 8 in 1965 and her daughter, Melinda at age 37 in 2007.

Kerin is survived by her husband, Johnny; her son, Glenn and his wife Kerima; her four grandsons, Johnny, Winton, Lance, and Abdel; all of Amarillo and a sister, Linda and her husband John Ryan of Pryor, Oklahoma.

The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30pm Friday, May 8, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home 8310 S. Coulter.
