Kenneth "Ken" Doyle Jolly

Kenneth "Ken" D. Jolly, 68, of Amarillo died on Thursday, March 24, 2016. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 pm., Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Rev. Scott L. Willis, Chaplin VA Hospital, officiating. Inurnment will follow at Llano Cemetery with military honors. Arrangements by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
Ken was born on May 5, 1947 in Amherst, Texas to Robert O. and Estelle M. Worth Jolly. He grew up in Amherst where he graduated from high school. Ken joined the United States Marine Corps on August 24, 1965 where he served in Vietnam as a Lance Corporal (E-3) Recon Marine. He was honorably discharged on August 20, 1968 . He was self employed working as a carpenter. He was a life-long member with the VFW and the American Legion. Ken enjoyed watching football, caring for follow veterans, being with his family, and playing golf. He will be remembered for his jokes, story telling, and causing mischief. Ken had a strong faith in God, family, and doing what's right.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Estelle Jolly and a nephew, Joseph B. Rietz.
Ken is survived by a son and daughter in law, John Thomas and Aimee Jolly; a daughter, Gentry Guzman; granddaughter, Sabine Francis Guzman; sisters, Wanda Mautone and Polly McCoy.
