Kenneth "Kenny" Richard Evenson

Kenneth "Kenny" Richard Evenson, 67, of Amarillo passed away on Tuesday, February 19, 2019. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm, Saturday, February 23, 2019 at Livingwater Christian Fellowship, 10100 US-60, Canyon, TX 79015 with Pastor David Jones officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 - 7:00 pm, Friday, February 22, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.

Kenny was born on June 16, 1951 in Albert Lea, MN. to Richard and Betty Evenson. He graduated from Albert Lea High School and married the Love of his life, Peggy Christensen on March 7, 1970 in Clarks Grove, MN. They moved to Texas in 1980 where he worked as the shop manager for Evenson Trucking for over thirty years. Being from Minnesota, Kenny enjoyed the outdoors. He loved to go fishing especially in Canada, play golf, camping, water skiing, snowmobiling. He loved to BBQ and play the guitar and sing. North to Alaska was a favorite song. Kenny was always building or had a project going on making sure everything was on the list. If it was not on the list and was completed, it was put on the list and marked off! Kenny was known for his big hugs and loved spending time with his family and he will be greatly missed by his family and everyone that knew him.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Peggy; two daughters, Stacy Ferguson and husband Ricky and Denise Wilson and husband Kevin; his sister, Kris Myers and husband Larry; three brothers, Alan Evenson and wife Julie, Jerry Evenson and wife Marcia and Bob Evenson and wife Debbie; two step brothers, Mike Otteson and wife Margo and Tim Ottesen and wife Trish; three grandchildren, Anthony Zanghi and wife Courtney, Audree Wilson and Kyler Wilson; two great grandchildren, Hadlee Zanghi and Briar Zanghi; his Step Father, Jim Ottesen and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.
