Junell Anderson, 64, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Friday, February 5, 2016 at Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church with Pastor Vurn Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.

Junell was born on August 9, 1951 in Amarillo.She graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1969 and was a very involved member of her graduating class. She worked in the data entry department for Diamond Shamrock/Valero until retiring after thirty five years. Junell was a very dependable lady and if she said she would do something or be somewhere, then you could take it to the bank. She loved to have people over to her house and was a great cook and was known for her pound cake. Junell was a member of the Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church for over forty years and was very involved in her church missionary ministry and the Wroten High Plains Court of Calanthe. Junell was the ultimate event planner whether it was weddings or baby showers and had the artistic touch to make it look like a million dollars. She was very picky and neat and always had everything in it's place.

She was preceded in death by her mother, June Anderson.

She is survived by her cousins; Renee Jones and husband Lee Artist and Brenda Galloway, both of Amarillo, her only surviving aunt Elizabeth Meno and  Charlotte Newhouse and husband Bobby, both of Lancaster, CA., Barbara Ray Thurman of Nashville, AR., LeRoy Anderson and Vernon Anderson, both of Amarillo, Eva Mae Johnson and Allen Anderson III, both of Pine Bluff, AR. and Donna Ray Taylor of California; three very special friends, Jerry Mathis and Wilma Black, both of Amarillo and Mildred Darton,  of Ft. Worth and many other relatives and friends.

The family would like to give a very special and BIG thank you to Greater Mount Olive Baptist Church and Valero for their love and support of Junell and her family.

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Thursday, February 4, 2016 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
