Julian L. Sapien, Sr., age 86, of Amarillo passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 surrounded by his loving family. A time for the family to receive friends will be Sunday, November 10, 2013 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Rosary recited at 6:00 pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, November 11, 2013 at 2:00 pm at St. Laurence Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Llano Cemetery.
Julian was born in Fredricksburg, Texas April 12, 1927 to Melcades and Agapita (Lopez) Sapien. He proudly served his country during WWII in the US Navy and married the love of his life Andrea Flores in Lampasas, Tx on May 30, 1945.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Andrea of Amarillo, five sons, Rudy F. Sapien, Julian F. Sapien, Jr., Fred F. Sapien, Eddie F. Sapien and Johnny F. Sapien all of Amarillo and two daughters, Sally F. Jimenez of Colorado Springs, Co. and Frances F. Tinajero of Amarillo. Also carrying on his legacy are his twenty nine grandchildren, fifty three great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
