Judy Paulette Dougherty, 68, of Amarillo died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel with the Rev. Bill Gehm, pastor of Grace Community Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
Judy was born March 19, 1943, in Borger and graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1960. She married Jimmie Dougherty on June 10, 1961. Judy loved to cook and care for her family. If anyone sneezed, she was quick to offer a heartfelt “God bless you.” Judy was very devoted to God and her faith. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Packebush, and a son, Jimmie Craig Dougherty.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Jimmie Dougherty; a son, Mike Dougherty and wife Tina; her mother, Paulette Packebush; two brothers, Richard Norman Packebush and wife Brenda and Steven Ray Packebush; five grandchildren, Michael, Jimmie, Derrick, Matthew and Paige; five great-grandchildren, Brandon, Dillon Craig, Jimmie Jr., Jenice and Sariah, all of Amarillo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
