Jose was born on July 11, 1933 in LaEstancia Durango, Mexico unto Manuel and Guadalupe Reyes Silva. He was a farmer.
Survivors include his wife Carolina of the home, his children Edmundo Silva and his wife Luz, Jose Luis Silva and his wife Sandra, Jose Manuel and his wife Juana, Lilia Silva and her husband Raul, Aracely Silva and her husband Alfredo, Irene Silva and her husband Juan, Ceferina Silva, Bertha Alicia Silva and her husband Alfonso, a sister Irene Silva and her husband Socorro, sixteen grandchildren and four Great grandchildren all of Amarillo
