Mr. Jose R. Ramirez

Jose was born on September 26, 1933 to Margarito and Juanita Ramirez in Waelder, TX. He was like a father figure to his brothers and sisters, working as a farmer in Springlake, Texas for many years to help support them. He married Mary Helen Delgado on July 25, 1959. He later went on to work for Excel Meat in Plainview, TX for over 25 years until his retirement in 1998. Jose then moved to Amarillo where he resided until his passing.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Helen Ramirez of Amarillo; a daughter, Nancy Lopez and her husband Lazardo of Amarillo; his 2 sons, Joe Ramirez, Jr. and his wife Olga of Phoenix, AZ, and Mike Ramirez of San Antonio, TX ; Steve Monreal who Jose loved as a son, and his wife Rose of Austin, TX; two brothers, Cosme Ramirez of Tivoli, TX and Samuel Ramirez of Dimmitt, TX ; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and a host a friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margarito and Juanita Ramirez.
