Chano was born on 8-6-61 in El Retiro Coahuila, Mexico unto Ponciano and Socorro Gonzalez Hernandez. He was a graduate of Roswell High School. He worked for 30 years for NuMex Plastics of Roswell, New Mexico. After his retirement he started his own tortilla business and moved on to becoming a Mobile welding supervisor of Chemetron Railway Products of Kansas City. MO.

Survivors include his mother Socorro, his children Michael, Jeff, Crystal and Linda, his fiancée Susy, his siblings Jesus, Lupe, Socorro, Alicia, Ana, Marina, Angelica, Sylvia, Jose Luis, Chelo and Nena and 3 grandchildren
