Joe Esteban "Steve" Garcia 55, of Amarillo left this Earth to be hand in hand with the Lord on Sunday, Jan. 2, 2011.
Steve was born Jan. 11, 1955, in Hereford to Joe and Mellie Garcia. He married the love of his life, Yolanda Mendoza, on Jan. 1, 1985, in Hereford. He owned and operated Southwest Stucco for more than 30 years.
He was a man of strong values and morales and loved his family dearly. He was a loving son, brother, husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Steve will be forever missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a brother, John Peter Garcia, in 1990.
Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Yolanda Garcia; five children, Jonathan Mendoza, Arsenio and wife Noemi; Brittany, Mercedes and Ace Garcia; two grandsons, Izaiah Mendoza and Isaac Escobedo, all of Amarillo; his parents, Joe and Mellie Garcia of Amarillo; and a sister, Mary and husband Wally Castillo of Hereford.
