George Alberto Acosta, 50, of Amarillo passed away on Thursday, June 28, 2018. Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm, Monday, July 2, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at St. Laurence Catholic Church with Father Shane Wieck as Celebrant. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road.
George was born on July 17, 1967 in El Paso to Paz and Maria Acosta. He was a supervisor for Tyson Foods for over thirty years. George loved fishing, singing karaoke and dancing. He was a great cook and loved to grill and entertain family and friends at his house. George loved to watch movies and was quite the jokester who liked to exaggerate the story. He was the life of every party. George was a very kind, loving, hard working man and the best Dad/Grandpa and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by four daughters, Jazzman Xaymongkhoune and husband Jimmy, Jezzeka Sanchez and husband Marco, April Acosta and Melissa Acosta; one son, Zachary Acosta; one grandson, Kolton Duncan; four brothers, Ruben Acosta, Enrique Acosta, Paz Acosta Jr. and Jesus B. Acosta; two sisters, Martha Gamez and Elizabeth Murguia and numerous other family members.
