Jon Fredrick Teichmann, 65 of Amarillo passed away on December 19, 2011. A Celebration of Life Services will be at 2:00 p.m Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Chapel with Rev. Ken Haney officiating. Military Honors will be rendered by the United States Army.
Jon was born on July 11, 1946 in Orange, TX to Rudolph and Elizabeth Teichmann. He attended school in Freeport, Texas, graduating from Brazosport High School. He enlisted in the United States Army, serving in the Vietnam War as Army Security Agency. Jon married Susan McMillan on April 30, 1970 in Freeport. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company as a technician for 32 years, retiring in 2002. Jon enjoyed playing pool, science fiction and his RV travels with his wife Susan. He was a 2 time cancer survivor.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Teichmann of Amarillo; 2 sons, Conan Teichmann and wife Laura of Amarillo and Jon Morgan Teichmann and wife Shannon of Amarillo; daughter, Majken Pullin and husband Tim of Katy, TX; 5 grandchildren, Courtney Teichmann, Presley Pullin, Chris Teichmann, Paxton Pullin and James Teichmann; brothers, Richard Teichmann and wife Jayanne of Euluss, TX and Kerry Teichmann of Kileen and his sister, Peggy Teichmann of Austin.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to: Odyssey Hospice of Amarillo or to The American Lymphoma Foundation.
