John "Buddy" Garland

October 15, 1946 — May 5, 2021

Buddy Garland, 74, of Amarillo, Texas passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was born October 15, 1946 in Cincinnati, Ohio to John and Marie Garland. Buddy worked for Xcel (SPS) for 30 years before retiring and prior to that he worked at Bell Helicopter, where he was proud to paint the helicopter for President Ford. He loved hunting, fishing, traveling and the casino, but most of all he loved his family and everyone he considered family. If he knew you, he loved you like his own. A special thank you to Amy Upton, FNP, Dr. Naguib, Dr. Dieguez and Dr. Slatton for taking care of him and helping him and his family through these last years.

He is preceded in death by a granddaughter, Phelicia Calhoun and a son-in-law, Bob Powell.

He is survived by his wife Bea Garland; his daughters, Benita Garland and Becky Burton and husband Kyle; his “adopted son”, Andy Robison and wife Sarah; his grandchildren, Brianna Patterson and husband Brandon, Brailand Rangel, Brittain Calhoun, Logan Burton and fiancé Andrea Robison, Berkleigh Ivy and husband Austin and Baileigh Burton and fiancé Randon Sharp; his great-grandchildren, Braivyn, Bria, Brook, Talon and Myles.

There will be a casual celebration to honor his life at 4:00 pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at 14800 Twin Lakes Rd.
