John B. Rosenbaum

John Bayne “Rosie” Rosenbaum passed away at the age of 95 on November 7, 2018. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Llano Cemetery East with Rev. Terry Tamplen officiating. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.

John was born in Sayre, Oklahoma in 1923. He served in the United States Army during WWII from 1943 to 1945. He worked in the auto parts business for many years. Everyone knew him as “Rosie”. He enjoyed doing yard work, fishing, spending time with his grandkids, and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Rosenbaum, his mother, Alma Rosenbaum, two brothers, Ernest Rosenbaum and Frank Rosenbaum and a grandson, Ricky Chavez.

He is survived by his wife of 76 years, LaVerne Rosembaum; three daughters, Sheila Chavez, Sheryl Smith and Jan Mackowiak; five grandchildren, Bryan Chavez, Dee Boeka, Melissa Rodriguez, Christa Glasgow and Jason Mackowiak and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the Amarillo V.A. Alzheimer’s Unit Community Living Center.
