Jelaine Ricketts died on Saturday, June 20, 2015 and John Ricketts died on Thursday, June 25, 2015. Memorial Mass will be said at 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Monsignor Waldo as Celebrant. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

John and Jelaine were married on June 21, 1956 in Amarillo at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in downtown Amarillo. John attended Price College High School and Jelaine attended St. Mary's Catholic High School. John was an insurance salesman and Jelaine was a homemaker. They loved traveling the world together, going to the mountains, and playing poker. They were known for their huge parties at Lake Tanglewood, but their real love was spending time with their family and they will be greatly missed by their family and friends.

They were preceded in death by their parents, a son Steve Ricketts and a brother, Dennis Walsh.

They are survived by two sons; Curtis Ricketts and wife Shirley of Fritch and Christian Ricketts and wife Beckie of Austin; two sisters, Barbara McGuire of Austin and Marilea Bridges and husband Perch of Amarillo; a brother, Bill Walsh and wife Linda of College Station; a sister in law, Diane Walsh of Modesto, CA; two half sisters, Pamela Waller of Clovis, CA and Sandy Schneider and husband Russ of Nebraska; six grandchildren, Emily Tyus, Aaron and Halie Ricketts, Amber Wells and Katelyn and Kylie Brommel; two great grandchildren, Annablaire Tyus and William Wells and numerous nieces and nephews.

There will be a gathering for times of memories on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 from 6:00 - 7:30 pm at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Alzheimer's Foundation: Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
