Joe was born July 12, 1915, in Grayson County to William and Trecy Collins. He enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served in WWII. Joe worked for the Amarillo Air Force Base and also as a watch repairman for more than 50 years.
Survivors include: wife, Betty Collins of Amarillo; his son, Kenneth Collins of Amarillo and his children; Pamela, Daniel and Michael, and his also by his step-children, Jimmy Braddock, Roy Braddock, Paul Braddock, Ramona Lockwood and Terry Braddock and wife Suzanne (three daughters; Jennifer, Tera and Celsea, , his nephews; Brannon Darnell and wife Barbara of Amarillo, Neal Collins and wife Saranell of Ft Worth, Keith Cox and wife Sandy of Dallas, great nephew; Donald Collins and wife Janita and a niece Judy Hanson and husband Harl of Kansas City
Preceded in death by: Parents; son, Richard Collins in 2006; first wife, Florence Collins and step son, Ronnie Braddock, two brothers Marsh and Jeff, and three sisters; Ana May Gilbert, Ina Phillips and Glenna Cox
