Jody Hernandez, 58, of Amarillo died on Monday, May 25, 2015. Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am, Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.
Jody was born on February 5, 1957 in Childress to Joseph and Virginia Hernandez. He graduated from Childress High School where he was a half back on the football team. He worked as a concrete finisher.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Hernandez.
He is survived by two sons, Alejandro Hernandez of Amarillo and Fevin Hernandez of Childress; two daughters, Christy Gonzales of Childress and Karina Estrada, of Amarillo; his mother, Virginia Mendez of Amarillo; his father, Joseph Hernandez of Childress; four sisters, Christena Hernandez and Suzann Soliz, both of Amarillo, Heather Hernandez of Childress, and Terri Lynn Burnett of Pilot Point; eight grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
