Jessie Faye Thomas

Jessie Thomas, 94 of Amarillo passed away Saturday November 9th, 2019 in Amarillo surrounded by her family.

Services will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel with Pastor Glen Walton Officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors.

Jessie was born January 22, 1925 to Andy and Ada Collins in Memphis Texas. Jessie was an avid cook, and loved using her hands; sewing and mending her own clothes was something she really enjoyed and continued doing into her nineties. Faith was very important to Jessie, she was a lifetime member of The Church of Christ; she made this her main priority. Her family remembers how well put together she was, and how much she enjoyed dressing up. Among her other passions, she loved to square dance and would go every Tuesday night to the Federated Women’s club to participate. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent Thomas; her daughter Ruby Richard; her parents and a granddaughter Kim Maxwell.

Survivors include her two Granddaughters Zona Faucett and Delana Barnes both of Amarillo; one great grandson Justin Mayhall and wife Lindsay of Highlands Ranch Colorado; two great-great granddaughters Lily and Scarlett.
