Jesse Carl Kruger was born December 20, 1954, in Waco, Texas, to Margaret and Carl Kruger and passed away on January 21, 2025, in Amarillo, Texas.
Jesse dedicated much of his life to hard work and service. He worked as a correctional officer for the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and later joined the Texas Department of Transportation construction crew before retiring in 2020. One of his favorite stories to share was about the time he personally trained Brad Pitt for six weeks while a movie was being filmed near Lubbock.
Jesse found joy in spending time with his family, particularly his daughter Jessica and granddaughter Ellie. He also enjoyed collecting knives, reading his Bible, and cheering on the Kansas City Chiefs and Buffalo Bills.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Margaret and Carl Kruger. He is survived by his daughter Jessica Green and her husband Brandon; his beloved granddaughter Ellie Green, all of Amarillo; his brother David Kruger and wife Angela of Tyler, Texas; his sister Shirley Gilvary and husband Melvin of Lanexa, Virginia; niece Caitlin Roberts and husband Josh of Tyler, Texas; nephews Cole Kruger and wife Lindsey of Santo, Texas, Johnathan Kruger and wife Emily of Castle Rock, Colorado; as well as five great-nephews and one great-niece.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at BSA for their compassionate care and to the friends and neighbors at Independence Village Apartments who enriched Jesse’s life.
Jesse will be remembered for his dedication to family, his vibrant stories, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who cherished him.
