Jerry Keesee, 84, of Amarillo died Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Martin Road Chapel with Carolyn Nuthman officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemtery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
Jerry was born July 23, 1927, in Amarillo to Lowell and Thelma Rider. She attended school in Amarillo, graduating from Amarillo High School in 1945. She married R.H. Keesee on Nov. 27, 1946. They had been married for 65 years.
Jerry was an avid bowler, bowling on teams throughout Amarillo. She loved to complete word searches, crossword puzzles and hooked rugs. Jerry was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She greatly loved her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Benny Lowell Keesee in 1975; two sisters, Kathleen Dever and Violet Faye Doyal; and a nephew, Danny Lynn Persall.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Vicki Thompson and husband Allen; a sister, Donaleta Persall; three grandchildren, Joseph Tabor Clark and wife Melissa, Jason Alan Clark and wife Julie and Neely Ann Dewall and husband Ryan; four great-grandchildren, Lauren Taylor Clark, Ethen Nathaniel Clark, Anthony Cruz and Sawyer Harrison Clark; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive guests from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
