Graveside services will be at 10:30 A.M. Monday September 17, 2012 Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Texas with Pastor Sherman Eastland, Chaplain of Odyssey Hospice officiating. Viewing will be 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home 8310 S. Coulter, Amarillo, Texas 79119
Jerry was born and raised in Borger, Texas. He attended Cisco Junior College in Cisco, Texas. Jerry loved horse racing along with hunting and fishing. He worked as an oil and gas drilling consultant. He traveled all over the world with his job. Family was very important to Jerry. It did not matter where he was he always considered Borger as his home.
He was preceded in death by Alvie and Velma Randolph Carpenter and two brothers Bill and Joe Carpenter
Survivors include a brother Don Carpenter and wife Gloria of Houston, Texas; a niece Amanda Carpenter of Houston, Texas; a great nephew Dallas Gaviria of Houston, Texas; cousins Sue Moorland and husband Andy, Dianne Spradling and husband Gary; and Marilyn Stepp and husband Rusty.
