Janet Bryan was born June 9, 1964, in Fort Ord, California to Don and Gloria Riley. She grew up in Hereford, Texas, and enjoyed her summers in Roaring Springs Texas with her grandparents whom she cherished and revisited every year.
She met her soulmate Terry when they were both very young. She knew right away that he was the one she wanted to spend her life with. Even recently she was reminiscing on “how cute he was” when they were younger.
Together they moved to Amarillo, Texas to raise their three children. She loved her family with a fierce passion and was loved dearly in return by all who knew her.
Janet spent every moment she could with her children, playing video games, watching movies or simply enjoying each other's company. She instilled into them the importance of laughter and love, and she taught them to be strong responsible individuals. She enjoyed spending every opportunity vacationing in the mountains. She also spent a lot of time with her best friend Meshel. They would get their kids together and do family activities such as canning fresh vegetables and making jellies or traveling, anything to just be together.
She is survived by her always loving and devoted husband Terry, who worked very hard to give her everything she could ever want and more.
A daughter Mandy and her wife Jakodi of Artesia, NM, who are both in the medical field and love helping people.
Two sons, Jason of Monte Vista CO. who shares his mother’s love of travel and being in the mountains. Like her, Jason is selfless, always helping those in need.
Dustin, who moved back to Amarillo after serving in the Navy, has devoted his time to his parents and his recently departed grandmother. Dustin’s daughter Bella was Janet's only biological grandchild.
Though not biological, Janet had many chosen children and grandchildren. These children included Lidj, Zebulin, Ayslin, Jade, and Cera. And one grandchild, her “turtle” Dakota.
She is also survived by a sister Donna, two brothers Allan and Don, many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
