James Edward Polley, 73, of Amarillo passed from this life on Wednesday, April 18, 2018. Services will be held at 11:00 am and viewing will be held from 11:30 am until 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
He was born on March 23, 1945 in Geneva, Texas to Zafus and Lurline Polley. He attended and graduated from JJ Rhoades School in Childress, Texas. He was a resident of Childress and was Texas for many years. He was employed by the City of Childress.
He accepted Christ at an early age and loved spending time with family and friends. He was a loving, caring, humorous person who made many friends and never met a stranger. He loved to work and rebuild lawn mowers in his spare time.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Zafus & Lurline Polley; four sisters, Shirley Davis, Ivory Edwards, Billie Richardson and Mary Gore; one brother, Robert Polley.
He leaves to cherish five sons, Leslie (Dottie) Polley, James Baker-Polley, Otis Polley all of Amarillo, Texas, Deitrich Polley and Derek (Adriana) Polley both of San Antonio, Texas;two daughters, Yolanda Polley of Arlington, Texas and Gail Flemons of Paducah, Texas; two brothers, Lonzo (Vicki) Polley of Childress, Texas and Curtis (Sandra) Polley of Austin, Texas and a step brother Kenneth (Michelle)) Wright of Plainview, Texas; four sisters, Hazel Richardson, Faye Polley, Suzie Barnes all of Amarillo, Texas and Addie (Charles) Nelson of Dallas, Texas; twenty-five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends. A special friend, Robert Cannon, Childress, Texas.
