James Alton McLemore

November 28, 1924 — August 12, 2013

Service will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 15,  2013 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Home, Coulter Road Chapel with Pastor Bo Williams of Trinity Fellowship Church, officiating.
VISITATION: Wednesday Aug. 14, 2013 from 6-7pm at the funeral home
Mr. McLemore was born in Amarillo on November 28, 1924 unto James Adolf and Viola Welch McLemore. Jim was raised in Amarillo attending Amarillo High School. He married Pearl Gentry on Feb. 20, 1943 and celebrated seventy years of marriage last February. Only weeks after their marriage, Jim left to serve in the Army during World War II. He retired after 34 years of service with Texaco Refinery. Jim loved golf, dancing to country music and following Ryan Palmer on the PGA tour. He dearly loved his family
Preceded in death by his wife Pearl, his parents and five siblings
Survivors include one daughter Barbara Harney and husband Orvill of Amarillo, Texas two sons Rick McLemore and wife Katie of Amarillo and Doug McLemore and Janna of Amarillo, eight grandchildren Dana and Brian Newsome, Brent McLemore, Tim and Erin McLemore, Stacey Simpson, Sharrise and Ron Hulsey, Todd and Heather Beckum, Josh and Katie McLemore and Amanda and Chris Blades, 16 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
