Graveside service for James Preston Mason, 78, of Amarillo will be at 10:00 am, Friday, July 10, 2015 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S Coulter.
Jim passed away on July 5, 2015 in Amarillo, Texas.
He was born on August 27, 1936 in Clinton, North Carolina to Charles and Senie (Vann) Mason. He grew up in Clinton where he attended local schools. Jim joined the United States Air Force in 1964 where he served his country proudly until his retirement. He married Ann L. Willard in December 1970. After his retirement he and his wife moved to Amarillo in 1989 where he worked as an Insurance agent. He enjoyed Nascar racing and fishing.
Mr. Mason was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and his sister.
Jim is survived by two sons, two brothers, one sister and three grandchildren.
Family will receive friends at the funeral home on July 9, 2015 from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to: Gentiva Hospice, 3232 Hobbs Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79109.
