James Calvin "Cal" Gibbs, 51, of Amarillo died on Wednesday, December 17, 2014. Memorial services will be at 10:00 am, Saturday, December 20, 2014 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Road.
James Calvin Gibbs was born on August 7, 1963 in Amarillo to Frank and Nell Gibbs. Cal proudly served his country in the Navy. Cal attended Caprock High School and married his wife, Marcia on August 7, 2010. Cal owned Gibco services for 14 years. Cal never met a stranger and enjoyed helping people out by trying to give them a head start. He loved playing golf and fishing. Cal loved his family and was always trying to get them together so he could show off his "grillmaster" skills. Cal lived everyday to the fullest.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and Bobby Gibbs.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia of the home, a daughter, Renae Baker and fiance Colin of Denver; two brothers, Ron Gibbs and wife Rhonda and Michael Gibbs, both of Amarillo; a niece, Andrea Gibbs and fiance Gabe Walker of Amarillo and a nephews, Brent Gibbs and wife Lori of Madisonville, TX., Nathan Gibbs and wife Sheri of Dallas; grandnieces and nephews Logan, Jace, Phillip, Allyson, Alexys, and Hali.
The family suggests memorials be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
