James was born February, 10, 1949 to James, Sr. and Donna Day in Amarillo, Texas. He graduated from Tascosa High School and later from Amarillo College. Mr. Day retired from BNSF after 34 years of service as a Locomotive Engineer. He was a member of the US Army and was a Vietnam Veteran.
James was a member of the Amarillo Handgunners and the Harley Owners Group. He enjoyed spending time with his grandson, ‘Little T’, and was a fan of motorcycles, old cars, fishing and the stock-market.
Survivors include his loving wife of 32 years, Letta Day; his mother, Donna Day; two sons, Justin Day and wife Laney and Lukas Day and wife Lyndsey; a dear mother-in-law, Ruth Goodson; three sisters, Ann Eason, Dianne Carter and Beverly McCaskill; a grandson, Elliott Townes Day; friends, Gary and Jane Judd; his favorite Pup, Wally; and others too numerous to name.
He was preceded in death by his father, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
