Jackie Clark Bowling, 83, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2014. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 13, 2014 at 11:00 am. at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road with pastor Dale Travis officiating. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery.
Jackie Clark Bowling was born on April 27, 1930 to Vander and Ouria Clark in Vernon, Texas. She married the love of her life Jim on Aprill 22, 1950 in Clovis, NM. Jackie worked for S.W. Bell for 30 years as an operator. She attended Hamlet Baptist Church. She was the full time “Taxi” driver for the family and pick up was by a honk of the horn. Her car window was covered in good behavior stickers from her children and grandchildren. She hardly said the word “NO” but when she did, she meant it. Jackie loved her blueberry donuts and Elton John.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jim and a great grandson Allen Ray.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Rhonda Yetzer and husband Joe of Dallas, Vicki Dickens and husband Rick and Janet Thomas and husband Bruce, both of Amarillo; 1 son, Jimmy Don of Valle de Oro; 5 grandchildren, Tamara, Tiffanie, Amanda, BJ and Joe and 7 great grandchildren, Sidonie, Erin, Olivia, Sean, Richard, Tripp and Kaleb.
The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel, 1505 Martin Road.
