Jack Levi Mason, 88, of Amarillo died on Saturday, August 29, 2015. Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Monday, August 31, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Sr. Pastor Dale Bigham of Arden Road Baptist Church officiating. MIlitary Honors will be by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.
Jack was born on April 21, 1927 in Casper, Wyoming to Jack and Olive Mason. Jack attended Pueblo Junior College and proudly served his country in the Navy during World War II. He worked for Santa Fe railroad as a civil engineer for 33 years. Jack married Clara Bushey on July 1, 1980 in Amarillo. He was a jack of all trades and enjoyed working on houses and cars. He loved to stop at railroad crossings and count the cars as they went by and did not matter who was in the car with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Virginia; a brother, Daniel and a daughter, Leslie.
He is survived by his wife, Clara; one daughter, Jeri Finley and husband Bill of Santa Maria, CA; two sons, Jack Mason Jr. and wife Hisayo of Reno, NV and Paul Mason of Phoenix, AZ; a sister, Donna Kaufman; two half sisters, Charlotte Dedmon and Cathy Shisler, all of Pueblo, CO and a half brother, Nick Pizzuti Jr. of Berthoud, CO; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 - 4:30, Sunday, August 30, 2015 at LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.
