Ismael "Whitey" Hinojos

Ismael “Whitey” Hinojos, 72, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, December 6, 2021 in Amarillo.  He was born on December 12, 1948 in Alpine, TX to the late Miguel Hinojos and Cruz White Hinojos.  On October 4, 1968, he married Sylvia Mancha in Odessa.

He is survived by his wife, Sylvia Hinojos of Amarillo; two daughters, Sharon Isabell of Amarillo and Sabrina Brown and husband Justin of Amarillo; one son, I. J. Hinojos and wife Audra of Dalhart; four grandchildren, Jeremy Isabell and wife Tiffany, Megan Kitchens and husband Colby, Kaitlyn Brown and Henley Hinojos; four great grandchildren, Maddison Isabell, Colton Kitchens, Watson Isabell and Isabella Kitchens; one sister, Elodia Munoz of San Antonio.  He was preceded in death by one great grandson, Noah Romo; four sisters, Priscilla Ontiveros, Olga Najera, Mary Orosco and Linda Hinojos;  two brothers, Mike Hinojos and Isreal Hinojos.

A visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday, December 9, 2021 at LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Home on Coulter Road.  Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, December 10, 2021 at the LaGrone Blackburn-Shaw Coulter Road Chapel.  Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Amarillo.
