Irene Marie Wimmer

Irene Marie Wimmer, 95, of Amarillo passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2019. Graveside services will be at 10:30 am, Thursday, June 27, 2019 in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Irene was born on June 3, 1924 in Follett, TX to Dave and Bertha Helfenbein. Irene was a beautician for over fifty years. She owned and operated several salons during this time. She loved writing and giving her recipes to her family and was known for her orange zest cake and her bieroxs. Irene treated everybody as family and loved singing the old gospel songs. She loved teaching German to her Great Great Granddaughter Ryleigh.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband,Clifford; three sisters and two brothers.

She is survived by her son, Merle Wimmer; a daughter, Deanna Gutierrez and husband John; two grandsons, Johnny Gutierrez and Dan Gutierrez; five granddaughters, Darlene Maples, Lisa Hatchell, Myrna Clary, Lynna Smith and Marla Caldwell; 20 great grandchildren and 21 great great grandchildren.
