Irene Luna was born on July 28, 1931 in Vaughn, New Mexico to Pedro and Maria Duran. She married Marcelino U. Luna on September 20, 1948. Their residence was in Amarillo, Tx and they had six children.
Ms. Luna is survived by her children, Annabelle Herrera and husband Eulalio of Ft. Sumner Lake, NM, Phillip Luna and wife Janet of Amarillo, TX, Anna Cantrell of Amarillo, TX, Yolanda Hendrix and husband Lloyd of Amarillo, TX, Helen Flores and husband Henry of Amarillo, TX and Michelle Lutes and husband James of Stratford, TX; her sisters, Clara Stewart of Mustang, OK and Patsy Duran of Amarillo, TX; brothers, Arsenio Duran Vaughn, NM and Tony Duran Alamogordo, NM; as well as 24 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren, and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Pedro and Maria Duran; her husband, Marcelino Luna; her daughter, Patricia Luna; a brother, Paul Duran; and her great-grandson Phillip Olguin Luna.
Ms. Luna’s family would like to give special thanks to all of the employees of Coldwater Manor for their love and kindness to our mother. And also the nurses from Dumas Memorial Hospice for their compassion and tenderness.
