Inez Lelia Jamison

August 1, 1913 — June 10, 2012

Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. today in Park Place Towers, 1300 S. Harrison St., with Jerry Bell, chaplain
officiating. Private burial will be in Llano Cemtery. Arrangements are by LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors, Coulter Road Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St.

Inez was born Aug. 1, 1913, in Hollis, Okla., to Fred Ingram and Alma Pennington Ingram. She graduated from Classen High School in Oklahoma City and Southeastern College in Durant, Okla., in 1935. She
graduated with a master’s degree from West Texas State University. She married Joe Parkey in 1941 and moved to Amarillo in 1943.

Inez taught home economics at Sam Houston Junior High School from 1947 to 1956, at Amarillo High School from 1956 to 1974, and at Tascosa High School from 1964 to 1979. She married Bill Jamison in 1978. She was a member of First Baptist Church since 1947.

Survivors include a sister, Mary Garner of McMinnville, Tenn.; two stepchildren, Betty Jamison Swann and husband Dr. William of New York and Bill Jamison and wife Marilyn, of Lubbock; six grand-
children; four great-grand-children; a great-great-grandchild; and a niece, Kathy Long and her family.

We all loved her greatly. She was a stepmother in name only, but a true mother in her heart.

The family is very grateful for all the kind love and care for the last 15 years by the staff in all the different places of Park Central.

We are also thankful for Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice staff, who were there to the end with acts of love and kindness and care.
