Ima Lea Gamblin, 90, of Amarillo died on Friday, June 12, 2015. Graveside services will be at 10:00 am, Monday, June 15, 2015 at Llano Cemetery with Pastor Steve Gaines officiating. Arrangements are by LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter.

Ima Lea was born on January 26, 1925 in Floyd County, TX to Henry Herbert and Grace Irene Graham.
Ima Lea grew up in the Sand Hill Community outside of Floydada where she was actively involved in academics, sports and other activities. She played softball, volleyball and tennis and also participated in the 4H club. In 1939 she won a 4H trip to Texas A & M; in 1940 she was awarded Floyd County's First Gold Star Girl. She graduated from Floydada High School in 1940 and moved to Amarillo in 1945. She married Willie R. Gamblin in 1946. Ima Lea was a homemaker and loved being outdoors taking care of her yard, flowers and garden. For many years she was an active member of San Jacinto Methodist Church (now known as Covenant Fellowship Church) and attended the Heritage Sunday School Class. She was an artist and a participant in both the Golden Spread Painters Association and the Amaryllis Porcelain Art Club.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Willie, a sister, Marie Dillard and four brothers, Arthur, Ervin, D.T. "Buddy" and Herman Graham.

While she did not have children of her own, she was considered to be a second mother to a niece, Anita Honeycutt of Oklahoma City and a nephew, Fred Dillard of Arlington. She had a large number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great, great nieces and nephews.
