Ida Marie Delgado

Maria Ida Delgado passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 28, 2024, surrounded by family. Mrs. Delgado was born on September 25, 1936, in San Angelo, Texas, to Lorenzo and Antonia Sosa. Ida met and married Joe H. Delgado on November 7, 1953; they enjoyed 49 years of marriage. The couple moved to Amarillo in 1955 where they raised five children – Mario Delgado, Cecelia Kerr, Tony Delgado, Danny Delgado, and Albert Delgado.

Ida was a loving wife, homemaker and devoted mother who happily spent her days caring for the home and her family’s well-being. Ida was a wonderful cook who was always happy to have guests in her home. She enjoyed sewing and quilting and making many outfits for her daughter and grandchildren throughout the years. Mrs. Delgado was an avid gardener with a remarkably green thumb. 

Mrs. Delgado was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe, a son, Tony Delgado, and three grandchildren: Thomas Walker, Michael Delgado, and Amanda Delgado. 

Mrs. Delgado had fourteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
