Funeral Service will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 22, 2012 in LaGrone-Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Road Chapel with Rev. Lance Herrington officiating. Burial will be in Memory gardens Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm Tuesday evening at the funeral home at 8310 S. Coulter.
Henry, better known as Hank, was born Aug. 6, 1932 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Roy and Ella Barnes. He attended School in Callaway, Nebraska until his Junior year in High School, when his family moved to Lexington, Nebraska where he graduated from High School in 1948. He married Della Pinkerton in Lexington on March 4, 1956. Hank enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951 and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged in 1954. Hank and Della moved to San Antonio in the Spring of 1957 and later moved to Amarillo in 1976. He spent his entire life working in the construction industry, working in almost all types of construction from Highway to Land leveling, pipeline work and finally building construction. He loved his work and was dedicated and loyal to his employees. Mr. Barnes was a loving and devoted Christian husband. He was dearly loved and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step-mother and five brothers, Robert, LaVerne, Dean Brown, Raymond and Larry
Survivors include his wife, Della of the home, a brother, Clifford Barnes and wife Mary of Lexington two sisters, Donna Mae Crain and husband Larry of San Antonio and JoAnn Woehrle and husband Richard of Lexington, NE and many loving nieces and nephews.
