Ms. Helen Marie Lannier
July 4, 1938 — December 21, 2010
Helen Marie Raef Lannier was born on July 4, 1938 in Amarillo, TX. She was one of twelve children born to Lewie and Reba Raef. She spent many years teaching in Fort Smith, Arkansas and San Antonio and was an assistant director for a day care center in Ann Arbor, MI. After leaving the teaching profession, Helen worked for EDS in Washington DC and San Diego, CA. Upon leaving EDS, Helen spent many happy years in San Diego before returning to Texas where she made her home in Fairview, Texas. Her days were filled with volunteer activities. She was a driver for Meals on Wheels as well as volunteering as St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church in McKinney. A memorial service was celebrated in McKinney on Thursday, December 23, 2010.
Survivors include: Louis Raef, Guy Raef, Margaret Harris and husband Allen, Mary Lyne and husband John of Amarillo, Barbara Hartman and husband Bernard, Sylvia Artho, Kevin Raef and wife Kathy of Canyon, Mike Raef, Suzy Hicks and husband Marion of Umbarger, Andy Raef and wife Edith of Crestview, Florida, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at the Medical Center in Plano, TX for the loving care of our sister.
Preceded in death by: parents; brother, Thomas Raef and her husband, Delbert Lannier.
