Hazel Colleen Hisel

Hazel Colleen Hisel, 95, of Amarillo passed away Friday, December 11, 2020. Hazel was born on September 29, 1925 in Quates, New Mexico to Chester and Ester Muse.

Hazel attended Clayton High School graduating in 1943. After graduation she moved to Cactus, Texas to assist in the war efforts. She moved to Amarillo in 1944 where she waited for Elmer to return from WWII and then marrying in 1946. She was a faithful member of Trinity Baptist Church of Amarillo and loved her church family dearly. Hazel was an amazing mother raising four fine men and she never missed a church service regardless of where she and Elmer were in their many travels. She was an auxiliary volunteer for Northwest Texas Hospital for over 10 years. Hazel enjoyed traveling with family and friends across the country on motorcycles and RVs. She loved cooking and spending time with her family and visiting for hours.

She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 67 years, Elmer G. Hisel and a brother, Denzel Muse.

She is survived by her sons, Roger Hisel and wife Connie, Gary Don Hisel, Larry Dale Hisel and wife Libby and Johnny Mac Hisel; her grandchildren, Montana Vicary Cochran and husband Barry, Driller Hisel and Desi Hisel and Amber; her brother, Darrell Muse and a sister, JoAnn Monfredo.
