Harold Dean Huenergardt

Harold Dean Huenergardt, 82, of Amarillo died on Friday, May 19, 2017. Services will be held at 11:00 am, Wednesday, May 24, 2017 in LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Martin Road Chapel. Burial will follow in Llano Cemetery East with military honors by Volleys for Veterans. Arrangements are under the direction of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 1505 Martin Road, Amarillo, Texas.

Harold Dean Huenergardt was born May 12, 1935 in Selman, Oklahoma. He graduated from Woodward High School. Military service was two years as an Army Sergeant. After the military he moved to Amarillo, Texas where he worked for Pioneer Gas (Cabot Corporation) until he retired in 1987.
Harold was a true landscaper! His lawn was beyond perfection…he was even accused of manicuring it with fingernail clippers! His yard was always the envy of the neighborhood.

After retiring, he and Rae started a business called H&R Woodworking making anything you could imagine out of wood. Harold would cut and sand and Rae would draw and paint. They sold things all over the United States. Consider yourself lucky if you hold any of the treasures they made.

One of Harold’s favorite things to do after retiring was camping and traveling to different places they had never seen before. Harold could tell you stories from those adventures that were full of fun and excitement. Bears in camp….
I don’t think Harold knew a stranger…he could talk to anyone about anything!
So Harold, we have been blessed to have shared your life and one thing we know now is that Heaven’s garden has a new angel manicuring! We love you and will miss you!

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Rae Huenergardt, daughter Kelly Gerow, Terry Richards whom Harold called son, sisters Betty Berg, Nadine Ware and brother Roy Huenergardt.

Condolences may be sent to Rae Huenergardt, 336 Ford Ave. Amarillo, TX 79108
